William L. Teets

William L. Teets, 87, of Clinton Twp. NJ died on Tuesday, Sept.1, 2009  at the Morristown

Memorial Hospital, in Morristown, NJ.. He was born in Ralston, NJ on January 9, 1922,

a  son of the late Frederick L. and Elizabeth Backer Teets and was a life-long resident of Clinton Twp where He operated the Backacres Farm since 1957. He and his late father also operated the Cokesbury Dairy. Mr. Teets was a member of the Cokesbury United Methodist Church and Assisted in the construction of the Wesbury Room of the church. He served on the Clinton Township Board of Education for eighteen years and was a former trustee of the Mountain View Cemetery Association. He was a 50 year member and Past president of NJ Holstein Association and a member and past president of the  Hunterdon County HolsteinAssociation and attended many, many conventions of the National Holstein Association.He was a member of the National Dairy Shrine. His wife of sixty years, Natalie Case Teets died in 2003. He is survived by three daughters, Darlene McCaffrey, wife of theLate Patrick McCaffrey, of Clinton Twp., NJ. Sharon Beatty and her husband Bernie ofBethlehem Twp.NJ and Lucinda Pill and her husband Robert of Lebanon Twp., NJ, Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Califon United Methodist Church, 15 River Road, Califon, NJ. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Cokesbury, NJCalling hours are Friday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be sentTo the NJ Holstein Association, c/o Genie Roberts, Lakeview Drive, Newton, NJ 07860

Bill was a man of true convictions, never changing his position on the issues! Breeding Holsteins Cattle better than anybody. Over 30 excellent cows, at time when there were no computers to help the matings. He always said " if I can't see the bulls daughters I won't breed the bull." I am proud to know Bill and to be his Son-in-law. Bernie Beatty
